A Proper Little Cafe on Sea View Road is a classic spot that locals turn to when craving traditional fish and chips in Skegness. While it carries the casual vibe of a seaside takeaway, it also offers eat-in options without any extra charge, making it flexible for those who want to settle in and enjoy their meal away from the bustle. The place is often busy, which speaks to its steady local following and reputation for quality.

The focus here is squarely on hearty, well-cooked fish and chips — with a batter that stands out as notably fresh and crisp. Portions come in sizes generous enough to satisfy a hefty appetite, though smaller options are available for lighter meals. If you prefer a simple accompaniment, many locals opt for bread and butter over bread rolls, a detail that echoes the traditional seaside town approach to this classic dish.

The atmosphere is straightforward and unpretentious, with friendly staff who bring a welcoming touch. The steady flow of customers and takeaway queues show that this cafe is part of the everyday rhythm for families and visitors alike. It's a place where people drop by not just for the food but to tap into a bit of local life, especially on busy afternoons or as a last meal before heading home, capturing a slice of Skegness community through its enduring popularity.

I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing, and the staff are all lovely. This is the best chippy in Skegness.

Oh my what can I say...for the past 12yrs we have driven past this place and it has ALWAYS been busy...and every time my mum said we must try it...it must be good it's always full and the takeaway always had a cue...but we never did..my mum died in 2019 and the year after the place had been burnt down...anyway this year 2023 my grandson who's 10 said for our last meal before we go home can we try it for grandma so we did, Oh my god how bloody good was this, the fish on all 3 plates was cooked to perfection and was very very tasty, the chips a little pale but very good, and to finish it off we had PROPER mushy peas, service fantastic and price was spot on highly highly reccomend..I'm just so sorry we did not visit a lot sooner.. but we will definatley visit here in future every time Thanks everyone who works here

Great fresh cooked cod & chips, really liked the batter - probably the best fish & chips I have had for a long time You can eat in if you want for same price as take away too

Best fish and chips around, specially if you are hungry. The mini fish and chips is more than enough. Would rather have bread and butter than a bread roll
